THÜROS® is the leading manufacturer of stainless steel chimney-draft barbecue units in Germany. The company, based in Georgenthal, Thuringia, offers more than 20 different grill types plus accessories in its portfolio – a total of more than 260 products. The range extends from simple table grills and classic garden barbecues to complete grilling stations for commercial use.

All THÜROS grills function according to the revolutionary chimney-draft principle. Air supply is regulated via a small slider in the shaft. No more laborious fanning to get the charcoal glowing. No more smoky gardens. And the charcoal always maintains the optimal temperature.

The success story of THÜROS® began in 1992. At that time, entrepreneur Peter Schneider from the Sauerland region accidentally found himself in Georgenthal, Thuringia. He was looking for a metal construction company. He found metal – but not as expected. During his very first visit to the Thuringian Forest, he noticed the many self-built grills in the gardens. Many of them were "home-made" and so cleverly constructed that they fascinated Peter Schneider. His business idea was born: he would become a grill manufacturer. The first 80 grills, which were still handmade back then, were literally snatched out of his hands.

Soon after, THÜROS® was founded. The name is an abbreviation for Thüringer Bratrost (Thuringian Roasting Rack) – and the result of a public competition, making it a company name chosen by the people. From then on, things took off rapidly.

Generational Change and Growth: Quality Since 1992

In 2012, management was handed over to the second generation. Since then, Christian Schneider has led the fortunes of the grill factory. Previously, he had already supported his father in controlling and marketing. The original five employees have now grown to 30. Half of them work in manufacturing. THÜROS® grills are made of 99 percent high-quality stainless steel sheet and are produced entirely in Georgenthal. All products are high-quality, robust, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. THÜROS offers a 25-year product guarantee. "Our grills are practically made to last forever," says Christian Schneider.

Today, THÜROS® exports worldwide – and has remained a family business in the truest sense of the word. Christian Schneider receives support from his wife Iris in factory sales. Daughter Jacqueline is responsible for export and marketing for the "Grill Temple." The down-to-earth company focuses on customer proximity, fairness, sustainability, and product variety. A grill factory with heart. There is a suitable device for every need. In the medium term, THÜROS® plans to further expand its product portfolio in the gas and camping sectors. New markets are also to be opened up. While the distribution focus is still clearly on Germany, THÜROS® aims to establish a stronger foothold abroad in the future.
