Cleaning & Care
THÜROS barbecues – clean and care
The whole barbecue can be cleaned with a soft cloth and warm water mixed with a small amount of washing up liquid. Persistent stainings that do not come off like this, can be removed by using a common grill cleaner.
As an alternative to the grill cleaner, a stainless steel sponge can be used as well.
In general you can use anything to clean the barbecue that you would use to clean a stainless steel cooking pot or pan.
THÜROS grill care
To ensure the full functionality of a THÜROS barbecue every time you grill, it is recommended to remove all ashes after a BBQ. When you finished your barbecue, wait until the embers have cooled down. Then, remove the cold embers from the charcoal tray and the ash from the booster as well as the ash tray. Like this, the flue can maintain its constant air flow.
An extra tip regarding the cooking grate
The cooking grate should be set on the barbecue when the charcoals are getting a white coat and taken off as soon as you have finished your BBQ. This prevents residues, f.e. from marinated meat, to burn into the grate. Thus, cleaning will be easier.
Clean the cooking grate with warm water mixed with a small amount of washing up liquid. If everything does not come off, soak the grate in the warm water for a couple of hours. To spare time, the cooking grate can be cleaned in a common dishwasher. The grate is electropolished and therefore food-safe and dishwasher-safe.
Furthermore, a cleaning block made of glass fibre can be used. It removes all remains.
